How simple have we made content distribution? Turn on the CDN feature in the Cloud Files interface and copy and paste the link. No minimum commitments, programming, or even configuration files are required.
Content Distribution technology is what allows you to get media to your users fast: instantly deliver web pages, images, music, entire games and software packages—even HD video—to global audiences of any size. Using a content delivery network, however, can be complex and expensive. We just knew it didn't have to be, so we partnered with Limelight Networks to create the industry's simplest CDN experience.
Here's why Cloud Files storage with Limelight's distribution network makes for the easiest possible content distribution:
You certainly can control the Cloud Files CDN programmatically, but it's not required. Using the same, simple web interface you use to upload content to Cloud Files, you can just right-click on any container and make its content publicly available across Limelight's CDN. At that point, a URL will be provided that you can use in your site or application. The whole process of CDN-enabling your containers takes only a few seconds.
Limelight Networks already makes global content delivery possible for MSNBC, Microsoft's XBOX, and the Dallas Cowboys. They've been a pioneer in the CDN space since 2001. This is the first time a major CDN has partnered with a cloud provider to create such an easy, complete storage-to-delivery solution for media content.
All the public CDN bandwidth is 22¢ per GB, no matter where your end users are. We don't charge extra request fees for content served from the CDN endpoints. There are no bandwidth charges from Cloud Files to the CDN endpoints. (Amazon, by contrast, charges for bandwidth between S3 and the CloudFront CDN as well as a fee for requests from the CDN endpoints.)
During our beta period, support for Cloud Files is available free of charge Monday - Friday, during normal business hours. After the beta period, 24-hour support will also be available.
If you want to tie the CDN features of Cloud Files right into your application code, you can download the fully-supported code libraries The Rackspace Cloud has made available. In the libraries, we do the heavy lifting of communicating with the REST APIs, allowing you to continue to work natively in your favorite language. Libraries available for PHP, Python, Java, and .NET.
“We saw a traffic spike of over 500% from the previous day. Mosso’s platform allowed us to handle these spikes seamlessly. We did not have to worry about adding servers, load balancing, it was just done.” www.eckoenterprises.com
“I have moved the majority of my sites to Mosso and I will not look back. Mosso has a really easy interface that allows me to run all sorts of applications. I can now create applications using PHP and ASP.NET. I can also run all of these technologies under the same domain name!” www.okcodemonkey.com
“Mosso has figured out how to take the hard parts of scaling and make them automatic by adding a layer of scaling intelligence over the traditionally “dumb” service of hosting, and as a result they’ve become one hell of a cloud service.” www.phoenomi.com

Cloud Sites is used to quickly host very scalable and reliable websites.
Unlike traditional web hosting, this is not a massive amount of customers crammed on one server. Instead, it's a massive amount of servers that power each visit to your web site.
You'll want Cloud Sites if you're looking for web hosting without the hassles of managing a server or the poor performance and reliability common with virtual hosting.
Cloud Files is unlimited online storage for media, files, and backups.
If your web application needs a lot of storage for images or user-generated content, Cloud Files can store it all for pennies per gigabyte.
You'll want Cloud Files if you've ever asked yourself, "How are we going to store all that?" The best part is that you only pay for the online storage and bandwidth you are currently using. Cloud Files is big online storage without the big costs.
Cloud Servers allow technical users to get custom servers in minutes with full root access.
With Cloud Servers get what you want when you need it, Cloud servers are both instant and disposable. Make a new Server for staging and four new Servers for production. Delete one; create three more. You only pay for what's provisioned and Cloud Servers start at under 2 cents an hour!
