Cloud Servers are a new, affordable way to get the processing power that you need for your website or application. Try one out for a day with the change in your couch.
Cloud Servers from The Rackspace Cloud put you in complete control of your hosting infrastructure. Each Cloud Server is a fully-customizable, pay by the hour, virtualized server instance that you launch, maintain, and control with full root access.
Cloud server sizes are measured in the amount of physical memory reserved for your instance and range from 256 MB up to 15.5 GB.

Choose from a variety of popular Linux Distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, Gentoo, Centos, Fedora, Arch and Red Hat Enterprise Linux).

Using our online control panel (and soon our full APIs), each Cloud Server can be upgraded, downgraded, or removed as your needs change.
Pricing for Cloud Servers starts at $0.015 per hour plus bandwidth. Since you can pay by the hour, it's really easy and affordable to spin up a new Cloud Server for testing or development—and then simply remove it when you're done. Get our full pricing details.
If your site or application has big fluctuations in traffic—seasonal spikes around the holidays, for example—you can easily add more capacity, and then remove it once the demand subsides.
The SLA adopted for Cloud Servers is just as aggressive as the one Rackspace provides for traditional hosted servers. It provides remedies for any downtime event caused by the network, data center infrastructure, the physical host server, or the migration of your instance from one physical host to another (should that be required). Be sure to see our SLA in detail and take a look at how we fanatically support Cloud Servers.
With Cloud Servers, we manage the network, the hardware, and the virtualization layer. You get full control of your virtual instance – that means you call the shots when it comes to the OS, server applications and code.
Rackspace is fully committed to providing APIs for all of our cloud products. After all, APIs are what make a cloud, well, a cloud. For an early look at our APIs, send us an email at Cloudserver_API@rackspacecloud.com.

Cloud Sites is used to quickly host very scalable and reliable websites.
Unlike traditional web hosting, this is not a massive amount of customers crammed on one server. Instead, it's a massive amount of servers that power each visit to your web site.
You'll want Cloud Sites if you're looking for web hosting without the hassles of managing a server or the poor performance and reliability common with virtual hosting.
Cloud Files is unlimited online storage for media, files, and backups.
If your web application needs a lot of storage for images or user-generated content, Cloud Files can store it all for pennies per gigabyte.
You'll want Cloud Files if you've ever asked yourself, "How are we going to store all that?" The best part is that you only pay for the online storage and bandwidth you are currently using. Cloud Files is big online storage without the big costs.
Cloud Servers allow technical users to get custom servers in minutes with full root access.
With Cloud Servers get what you want when you need it, Cloud servers are both instant and disposable. Make a new Server for staging and four new Servers for production. Delete one; create three more. You only pay for what's provisioned and Cloud Servers start at under 2 cents an hour!
